GOING HOME
DISCHARGE
On the day of discharge, your obstetrician and paediatrician will each approve you and your baby clinically fit to go home. Discharge time is generally between 9am – 10.30am.
You will be given your baby’s health record, maternity discharge summary and any discharge medication that you require.
IN HOME VISITS
It’s normal for new mothers to feel a little anxious about taking baby home. Every mother at Gold Coast Private Maternity receives two complimentary in-home visits from our highly experienced midwives. In addition to general check-ups, it’s a great opportunity for new parents to ask any questions. Plus, we’re available at any time, day or night – simply call (07) 5530 0729.
ONGOING SUPPORT
As a Gold Coast Private Maternity Mum you become part of a community of families who are encouraged to meet and support each other through exclusive events and our private Facebook group ‘Born At Gold Coast Private’ where Mums and midwives offer tips, support and advice.
Of course, you’re always welcome to call us any time of the day or night for advice or support on (07) 5530 0729.
CHILD RESTRAINTS
Before discharge we will provide you with the relevant community services available to you.
It is the law in Australia that all children are restrained according to height and age when travelling by car.
The restraint should meet the Australian and New Zealand Standards. Ensure that your baby’s car seat is installed prior to your due date. Click here for more information.
