YOUR BABY
Feeding
It is Gold Coast Private Hospital’s policy to encourage breastfeeding on demand and “rooming in”, in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organisation (WHO).
Our highly experienced midwives and lactation consultant will assist you with all aspects of feeding and post-natal care. However, we understand that for for some mothers, breastfeeding may not be possible and we respect the right of each mother to determine how she wishes to feed her baby.
Our Executive Chef John O’Shea has an effective recipe for lactation cookies which are baked in our kitchen and provided for our mothers. We also have a lactation nurse and lactation consultant who are available to assist with your breastfeeding journey both while you’re in hospital, and after discharge.
Bathing
Our experienced midwives are on-hand 24/7 to assist you with bathing your baby. We can teach you techniques and give you tips so that you feel confident bathing your baby once you return home.
We provide all equipment and products for bathing your baby but feel free to bring your own products if you’d prefer.
Nappies
We provide all nappies and wipes for your baby during your stay. If you wish to use your own brand, please feel free to bring them with you.
